Welcome

Welcome to Ages of Joy, a blog devoted to exploring the amazing sequence of creative acts that God performed in creating a habitable world for mankind from a world that was formless and void.  The Bible testifies in many ways and in many passages to these works.  At the same time, we live at a time where scientific discovery is providing a constant stream of new measurements, refined models, and increased understanding of the natural realm.  God's initiating and sustaining role in creation is explored in this blog with the goal of equipping the Christian reader with the knowledge and a perspective that will be helpful in worshiping Jesus Christ as Creator and testifying to His works.

It will take some time for me to transfer the results of my research on this topic into this blog.  I would be delighted to get any feedback, even critical in nature, that will help me to refine the material presented.

Under the Timeline link is a draft one page overview of the Ages of Joy perspective using the accepted scientific timeline.  Please note however, the Ages of Joy perspective is ultimately independent of a specific timeline.  We argue (I think persuasively) that the days of Genesis 1 are ages during which God works a series of miraculous creative acts.  Whether you find there to be persuasive young earth arguments for these days to be hundreds or thousands of years in durations, or whether you are a convinced of the millions or billions of years of the standard scientific timeline, the Ages of Joy creation model has something to offer you.  I think this is a unique aspect of Ages of Joy and I will produce a "time independent" resource in the near future, especially if anyone asks.

By reading and commenting on this blog, you will greatly help me in this work.  You may also submit feedback and questions to agesofjoy @ gmail . com if you prefer.
